Multiplication Table of 6

6 Times Table

The 6 times table has a few unique characteristics that make it interesting. Every multiple of \(6\) alternates between being an even number ending in \(6\) (like \(6\), \(36\), \(66\)) and an even number ending in \(2\), \(4\), \(8\), or \(0\) (like \(12\), \(18\), \(24\), \(30\)). This alternation gives the \(6\) times table a distinct pattern compared to other tables.

The \(6\) times table is essentially doubling the \(3\) times table. For example,

\(6 \times 2 = 12 \quad \text{which is double} \quad 3 \times 2 = 6.\)

This connection helps when teaching or learning both tables together.

A unique property of the \(6\) times table is that any multiple of \(6\) is divisible by both \(2\) and \(3\). So, if a number is divisible by both of these, it will also be divisible by \(6\).
